CRRL is strongly committed to storytelling as a way to bring children and books together. The children's librarians at the larger branches are trained story tellers, and the library co-sponsors the Fredericksburg Storytelling Guild, a group of local storytellers and storytelling supporters.

Storytelling Series
The Central Rappahannock Regional Library's 2000 Family
Storytelling Series begins on Wednesday, February 9, with two
performances by Len Cabral: at 4:30 at the
Porter Branch Library, 2001 Parkway Boulevard in Stafford, and at 7:30
in the theater of the Headquarters Library at 1201 Caroline Street in
Fredericksburg.Cabral will tell stories of Africa, the Caribbean, the Cape Verde Islands, and the southern United States. Using mime, poetry, humor and audience interaction, Cabral's colorful programs woo audiences of all ages. The Family Storytelling concerts are for school-age children and adults, and are free.
