Use your modem-equipped computer to dial up the Central
Rappahannock Regional Library's online catalog.
Dial-up access provides location and availability information about the books,
magazines, music and talking book cassettes, videos, and CD's owned by your regional
system.
From your own computer, you can
- search for items by author, title, or subject
- scan best seller lists
- place items on hold
- find community information
- print/save lists of titles
Dial Pac Requirements
Apple or IBM-compatible PC
Hayes-compatible modem
Communications software settings:
- 1200/9600 baud
- No party
- 8 data bits, 1 stop bit
- full duplex
- handshake/flow control none
- or Xon/Xoff
Terminal emulation: VT100
Dial Up Instructions
- Windows 95/98 users should use the HyperTerminal option rather than Dialup Networking to use the following Dial Pac number.
- Dial (540) 373-5109. When connected, press <Enter>.
- login: library
- Tip: If login: prompt does not appear, then try pressing Ctrl-Q and <Enter>.
- After a successful login, the system will lead you through the Bulletin Board
announcements to the Dial Pac search menu.
Screen Garbage?
Screen garbage usually means terminal emulation setting is incorrect. You need to
return to login and start over. Follow these three steps:
- Type Q and <Enter>
- At "Welcome to DYNIX Door" screen, type <Enter>
- Type 15 and <Enter>
